Amaryl MP 2 is a medicine that contains a combination of Glimepiride, Metformin, and Pioglitazone. Glimepiride is an oral blood sugar-lowering medication that belongs to the class of drugs called sulfonylureas. It helps control blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes by stimulating the release of insulin from the pancreas. Metformin is another oral antidiabetic drug that improves blood sugar control by reducing the amount of glucose produced by the liver and increasing insulin sensitivity. Pioglitazone belongs to the class of drugs known as thiazolidinediones and works by increasing the body’s sensitivity to insulin. Amaryl MP 2 is primarily used as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus, when treatment with Metformin or Pioglitazone alone does not provide adequate blood sugar control. This combination medication helps to lower blood sugar levels and reduces the risk of developing complications associated with diabetes.
