Valera 5mg Tablet is a medicine that contains the active ingredient Evogliptin Tartrate. It is primarily used as an oral medication for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Evogliptin Tartrate is a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor, which works by blocking the action of the DPP-4 enzyme that breaks down incretin hormones. By inhibiting this enzyme, Valera increases the levels of incretins in the body, which in turn stimulates the release of insulin and helps to regulate blood sugar levels. Valera 5mg Tablet is typically prescribed to individuals with type 2 diabetes who have not achieved adequate glycemic control through diet and exercise alone. It is usually taken orally once daily, preferably before a meal.
