BACILLUS CLAUSII

BACILLUS CLAUSII: Bacillus clausii is a probiotic drug that contains live bacteria of the species Bacillus clausii. It is primarily used to restore and maintain the natural balance of the intestinal flora.

The mechanism of action of Bacillus clausii is believed to be multifactorial. It colonizes the gastrointestinal tract, competing with harmful bacteria for space and nutrients. It also produces antimicrobial substances that help to inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria. Additionally, Bacillus clausii stimulates the immune system, enhancing the body’s natural defense mechanisms.

The recommended dose of Bacillus clausii varies depending on the age and condition of the patient. In general, the usual dose for adults and children over 14 years of age is 1-2 capsules, three times a day. For children between 6 and 14 years old, the recommended dose is 1 capsule, three times a day. For children between 2 and 6 years old, the usual dose is 1 capsule, two times a day. The capsules should be taken orally, with water, preferably before meals.

Bacillus clausii is generally well-tolerated, and side effects are rare. However, some individuals may experience mild gastrointestinal symptoms such as bloating, gas, or diarrhea. These side effects are typically temporary and subside on their own without any intervention. In rare cases, allergic reactions may occur, which should be reported to a healthcare professional immediately.

It’s important to note that Bacillus clausii is a prescription drug, and the dosage and duration of treatment should be determined by a healthcare professional. This information is provided as a general overview and should not replace professional medical advice.
