BROMFENAC

BROMFENAC: BROMFENAC is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that is primarily used as an ophthalmic solution for the treatment of postoperative inflammation and pain following cataract surgery.

Its mechanism of action involves inhibiting the production of prostaglandins, which are substances that play a role in the inflammatory response. By reducing the levels of prostaglandins, BROMFENAC helps to alleviate inflammation and pain in the eye.

BROMFENAC is typically administered as an ophthalmic solution, which is applied to the affected eye(s) once daily. The recommended dose is one drop in the affected eye(s) starting the day before the cataract surgery, and continuing for a total of 14 days.

Common side effects of BROMFENAC may include eye irritation (burning, stinging, itching), blurred vision, dry eye, increased sensitivity to light, and a feeling of something in the eye. These side effects are usually mild and temporary.

While BROMFENAC is generally well-tolerated, it is important to note that it is a prescription medication and should only be used under the guidance and supervision of a healthcare professional. Patients should follow the prescribed dosage and inform their doctor of any new or worsening symptoms.
