K-PIO M Tablet is a combination medication that contains two active ingredients, Metformin and Pioglitazone. Metformin belongs to the class of drugs known as biguanides, which helps to control blood sugar levels by reducing the amount of glucose produced by the liver and increasing the sensitivity of muscle cells to insulin. Pioglitazone belongs to the class of drugs known as thiazolidinediones, which helps to reduce insulin resistance and improve insulin sensitivity in the body. K-PIO M Tablet is prescribed for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus, particularly in patients who cannot control their blood sugar levels with diet and exercise alone. It helps to lower and regulate blood sugar levels by improving insulin utilization in the body.
