Galvus Met 50mg/1000mg Tablet is a combination medicine that contains Metformin and Vildagliptin as its active ingredients. Metformin belongs to a group of drugs called biguanides, which help lower blood sugar levels by reducing the amount of glucose absorbed from food and decreasing the production of glucose in the liver. On the other hand, Vildagliptin is a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor that works by increasing the release of insulin and reducing the production of glucagon in the pancreas. This medicine is primarily used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus to control blood sugar levels.
